Artist Statement
“Painting and drawing have given my life immense purpose and direction. My ongoing goal is to return the favor by continually pushing the boundaries of my skills as both an artist and a storyteller. I strive to create paintings and illustrations that make people feel connected and emboldened, art that invites viewers to both feel deeply and think critically. ”
In this body of work, Harrison explores his own distinctive style and voice as an artist. By working at a smaller scale with acrylics, he hopes to paint as much as possible to begin visually working through his inner tension as an artist. In the process, he hopes to find an iconography that connects with his growing audience and that also remains true to his own authentic perspective.

Alonzo Harrison is a rising visual artist born and raised in Colorado. He graduated from Seattle Central College in 2018 with an Associate of Arts degree. Largely self-taught in the visual arts, Alonzo's practice reflects his dedication, discipline, and passion for creative expression.
His work is a vivid reflection of his deep Colorado roots and Mexican American heritage. His signature aesthetic combines bold, contrasting colors, dynamic shapes, and realism to create visually striking narratives. Over the past five years, he has built a diverse practice spanning murals, digital illustration, and acrylic painting.
Driven by a desire to continually push the boundaries of his skills as both a visual artist and a storyteller, Alonzo is focused on creating paintings and drawings that belong in fine art galleries and cultural institutions. Through his work, he seeks to foster meaningful dialogue with both the general public and the fine art community.
